ABR Marine Units Assist Long Beach Fire in Water Rescue Call.

Atlantic Beach, N.Y. — October 31 — Atlantic Beach Rescue responded with the Long Beach Fire Department to a report of a kayak in distress off West Park Avenue. Initial reports suggested two people were in the water, prompting a multi-agency marine response.
ABR launched Marine 3628 and a rescue jet ski, locating the drifting kayak with guidance from Long Beach Fire crews on shore. The kayak was safely towed in, and it was later determined that no one was in the water — strong winds had likely carried it away from a nearby dock.
