Charleston, N.Y. — October 12 — The Charleston Volunteer Fire Department hosted its Fire Prevention Family Event on Saturday, joined by the Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. Families met firefighters, learned safety tips, and explored emergency equipment up close.

The event focused on fire prevention awareness and encouraged residents to get involved in community service. Department officials thanked all agencies and attendees for helping make the event a success.
