East Avon, N.Y. — October 12 — The East Avon Fire Department joined the Avon Fire Department last week to celebrate Fire Prevention Week through community visits to schools, daycares, and the local library. Firefighters shared lessons on home safety, safe exit drills, and the importance of having a family emergency plan.

Students practiced escape strategies and learned how to react if a fire occurs, reinforcing key messages of prevention and preparedness. Each child received a take-home safety bag filled with educational materials and tools to help families plan for emergencies.
