Constableville, N.Y. — October 16 — The Constableville Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. marked Fire Prevention Week with a community outreach program that helped students and residents better understand how firefighters respond during emergencies. Local volunteers joined the department to demonstrate gear, explain emergency sounds, and reinforce key safety steps — don’t hide, get out, and make yourself known when responders arrive.
Throughout the day, firefighters engaged with families and school groups, answering questions about fire safety and showing how teamwork between departments and the public saves lives. The event also served as a reminder of the importance of early education in preventing tragedy and building trust between first responders and the communities they serve.
