New York, N.Y. — October 11 — Fire Commissioner Robert Tucker joined members of the FDNY Fire Safety Education Unit at the Children’s Museum of Manhattan on Saturday, sharing essential fire and life safety tips with young New Yorkers. The event focused on teaching children how to recognize home hazards, understand smoke alarms, and plan safe exits — practical lessons designed to prevent emergencies before they start.
The outreach was part of FDNY’s broader Fire Safety Education Program, which visits schools, museums, and community spaces to reach audiences of all ages. Supported by the FDNY Foundation, the initiative aims to reduce preventable fire incidents through early education and community partnerships.
