Lee Fire Rescue Stabilizes Car to Get Victim Out

This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

LEE, ME - On October 25th, after arriving on the scene of a reported MVA on North Road, Lee Fire Rescue had to quickly come up with a way to stabilize the vehicle in order to get a victim out. The victim was already on the down hill side of the vehicle when firefighters arrived. A large log jammed up against the passenger's side of the vehicle kept first responders from being able to open the door. Once the vehicle was stable by being hooked to Lee Fire Rescue's Hummer with a wench and chain, the log was able to be removed and the doors were able to be opened. The vehicle stayed attached to the Hummer until the tow truck was able to pull the vehicle back over the bank so that it would not roll down into the woods.
