October 31, 2025 — At approximately 11:19 p.m. Friday, the Adams Fire Department and Lorraine Fire Department were dispatched to 21422 Jerusalem Road in the Town of Lorraine for a report of a tree down across the roadway.

The section of Jerusalem Road involved is a seasonal, limited-use highway located about a mile beyond regular maintenance access. Upon arrival, crews found a tree blocking the road and trapping a hunter’s vehicle beyond the obstruction.

Firefighters quickly went to work, removing the tree and clearing the roadway. Once the debris was cleared, the hunter was able to back up approximately half a mile to a safe turnaround point, allowing all fire apparatus to exit the area safely.

Responding units included Adams Chief 1-0-1, Engine 1-4-1, Rescue 1-6-1, and Utility 1-7-1.

Both departments were commended for their teamwork and quick response in safely resolving the situation in challenging nighttime conditions.
