October 30, 2025 — The Baldwinsville Volunteer Fire Company took a creative approach to firefighter training on Wednesday night, combining air management drills with a friendly game of dodgeball.

Firefighters suited up in full turnout gear and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for a series of games designed to reinforce air conservation, communication, and situational awareness under physical stress. Each round introduced new rules to simulate different operational challenges.

Some games even incorporated mayday procedures and use of the SCBA buddy breathing system, allowing members to practice critical survival skills in a fun and engaging way.

The department noted that the drill was both educational and enjoyable, giving firefighters the chance to strengthen essential skills while building teamwork and morale.
