Hinsdale, N.Y. — Oct. 9 — Fifteen Hinsdale Volunteer Fire Department members participated in a live vehicle-fire training session at the Clay Fire Department's training tower on Monday night. Participants in the drill had the opportunity to practice safely putting out a car fire and practice the best approaches to take in the event of one.

During the exercise, crews reviewed key tactics including positioning of the apparatus, establishing safe zones, and deploying hose streams in a controlled environment. The department said the training supports ongoing efforts to keep firefighting skills current and to improve safety and performance during vehicle fire incidents.
