                        Early Morning Blaze Contained Quickly by Binghamton Fire Department

Binghamton, NY - In the early hours of 24 October's morning, at approximately 2:44 a.m., the Binghamton Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 9 Lydia Street. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy flames pouring from a first-floor window. Crews swiftly deployed a handline and brought the blaze under control within minutes.
Primary searches of the residence revealed no victims, as all occupants had safely exited the home before firefighters arrived—thanks to functioning smoke detectors. The fire was contained to the room of origin, with no further extension reported.
