Sheridan, N.Y.—October 10— Firefighters from the Sheridan Volunteer Fire Department joined area fire departments and first responders at Silver Creek Elementary School as part of Fire Prevention Week activities. The visit gave students a close look at fire safety practices and the work of their local emergency responders.
Crews presented lessons on home escape plans, recognizing hazards, and when to call 911. Students were also able to tour fire apparatus, handle some of the equipment, and meet the firefighters who serve their community.
