Chelsea Fire Assists Augusta Fire with Multiple Brush Fires Along Route 17

Chelsea, ME - The Chelsea Fire Department was requested by Augusta Fire to assist with five brush fires along Route 17 near the town line. Upon arrival, crews discovered several small fires stretching over half a mile. Chelsea’s Tank 6 and Tank 2 units provided manpower and water support, while Forestry 5 supplied tools and additional hand lines.
The Maine Forest Service was notified and responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the fires, which remains undetermined at this time.
