Charlestown, RI — October 27— This morning, Charlestown Fire District members conducted vertical ventilation training using an acquired structure on Matunuck School House Road. The hands-on drill allowed firefighters to practice roof cutting and ventilation techniques used to remove heat and smoke during structure fires.

The training improved coordination, tool handling, and safety awareness. The department thanked the property owners for providing access to the structure, helping firefighters maintain essential skills for real-world fireground operations.
