New Canaan, CT — October 29: Honoring firefighters, police officers, emergency medical technicians, and dispatchers for their ongoing service to the community, New Canaan Fire Co. No. 1 joined departments nationwide in commemorating National First Responders Day. The department thanked its own members for their continued commitment to New Canaan's protection. To honor the dedication of those who arrive on the scene first in an emergency, National First Responders Day is celebrated on October 28 of each year.
