Northborough, Mass. — October 8, 2025 — The Northborough Fire Department, based at 11 Pierce Street, joined several regional departments in Boylston for a coordinated tanker shuttle drill focused on rural water supply operations. The exercise simulated real-world challenges faced in areas without hydrants, emphasizing planning, coordination, and sustained water flow to a fire scene.

Crews practiced drafting from static sources, filling and relaying tankers, and maintaining supply lines over long distances. Mutual-aid departments worked together to test timing, communication, and apparatus placement — key factors in ensuring an uninterrupted water supply during incidents.
