October 17, 2025 — Early Friday morning, Middlesex Fire Department was dispatched to West Avenue following an iPhone crash detection alert that led responders to a serious single-vehicle accident.

At approximately 4:00 a.m., the first arriving chief located a vehicle overturned on its roof with no occupants inside or in the surrounding area. Fire crews immediately conducted a thorough search of the scene but were unable to locate anyone nearby.

The incident was then turned over to law enforcement for further investigation. According to an update, both individuals involved were later found and transported to the hospital for treatment.

All Middlesex Fire units cleared the scene and returned to service at approximately 4:30 a.m.
