West Hanover Township, Pa.—October 7— Volunteer members of the West Hanover Township Fire Company No. 1 spent the morning visiting West Hanover Elementary School and Inspire Daycare as part of the department’s continuing community education efforts.

Firefighters met with students, sharing age-appropriate lessons on fire safety, home preparedness, and emergency awareness. Children learned how to “stop, drop, and roll,” recognize smoke alarms, and understand when to call for help. The visit also included a tour of the company’s apparatus, giving students a closer look at the tools and protective gear used by firefighters.
