Firefighters from several departments responded to a multi-alarm residential fire that spread through a row of attached homes, requiring additional personnel, mutual-aid resources, and the evacuation of nearby residents.
On Saturday, October 10, 2026, at approximately 1:20 a.m., the Allentown Fire Department responded to the 200 block of South Saint Cloud Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania, for a reported structure fire. Arriving crews encountered heavy fire conditions involving attached residential buildings, with flames extending into neighboring homes.
As fire conditions developed, additional alarms were transmitted, eventually bringing the incident to four alarms. Firefighters from the Bethlehem Fire Department and multiple Lehigh County fire companies responded to assist with fire suppression, searches, and protection of surrounding structures.
Crews worked to contain the fire while searching affected residences and coordinating evacuations. Approximately 45 people were evacuated from the immediate area as firefighters continued suppression operations across the involved properties.
The fire damaged multiple attached homes and required several hours of operations before crews brought the incident under control. One firefighter sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No civilian injuries were reported.
According to fire officials, 16 residents were displaced by fire, smoke, or water damage. The American Red Cross responded to provide temporary shelter and assistance to those affected.
The Allentown Fire Marshal's Office began an investigation into the origin and cause of the fire. The cause remained under investigation in the initial reports.
