WALLKILL, NY - Maybrook FD responded to a rollover with ejection on I-84 eastbound at Mile Marker 26.2 on October 23rd with a vehicle that landed in the Wallkill River. EMS requested a Medevac launched. Mechanicstown set up a landing zone on I-84 in the eastbound lane. One subject was transported to the Medevac and airlifted to Westchester Medical Center. Battalion 8-Water Rescue Team Activated, Port Jervis, Sparrowbush, Huguenot divers and boats responded. A NYS Police diver entered the Wallkill River and confirmed that no one was in the vehicle. Rays Towing lifted the vehicle out of the water onto Route 416. NYS Police are investigating the cause. Montgomery Town PD, and Montgomery and New Windsor EMS assisted at Route 416.
