Attleboro, MA - One motorist was taken to the hospital Wednesday evening after a single-car crash along Oakhill Avenue sent a vehicle veering into a wooded area, severing a utility pole and dragging electrical wires into the road.

First responders from the Attleboro Fire Department were dispatched to the vicinity of 835 Oakhill Avenue at approximately 6:36 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, after receiving emergency calls regarding an off-road collision. Upon reaching the scene, crews located a lone vehicle resting in the tree line that had sheared a wooden utility pole off at its base upon impact, pulling overhead utility lines down across the roadway.

Firefighters safely removed the driver—who was the sole occupant—from the damaged vehicle and initiated an immediate medical evaluation. Attleboro paramedics treated the individual on site before transporting them to Sturdy Memorial Hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

Personnel cordoned off the corridor to protect the Bristol County neighborhood from live wire hazards and summoned National Grid crews to replace the broken pole and secure the electrical infrastructure. Fire units cleared the scene at approximately 7:19 p.m., while the Attleboro Police Department continued its investigation into the cause of the crash.
