Strawpump, Pa. — September 23 — Arona Road between Route 30 and Wendel Road was temporarily closed due to a significant water main break, for which the Strawpump Volunteer Fire Department responded this morning. Squad 2 began a complete closure of the area after finding a large roadway collapse close to the Route 30 intersection. Engine 3 oversaw traffic control along Route 30 to protect drivers and construction workers, while Rescue 2 was stationed to bar access from Wendel Road. To make sure there had been no flooding, firefighters checked the businesses in the area. All fire units left the scene as soon as PennDOT arrived to take over the traffic detail and start road repair work.
