Quick Response Contained Round Top Road House Fire in Bernardsville

Bernardsville, NJ - At approximately 8:45 PM on October 12, the Bernardsville Fire Company No. 1 and First Aid Squad were dispatched to a reported smoke condition at a residence on Round Top Road. Chief 22, Deputy Chief 22, and Engine 22-3 arrived on scene within six to eight minutes of the initial dispatch and discovered the attic filled with smoke and a light haze present on the second floor.


Upon assessment, Chief 22 requested a first alarm assignment, bringing additional crews from neighboring departments. Firefighters from Engine 22-3 located active fire in the walls behind the fireplace and began opening up the affected area to extinguish the flames. The fire was quickly brought under control, and all responding units were released from the scene by 10:10 PM.


Assistance was provided by the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department, Liberty Corner Fire Company, Peapack Gladstone Fire Department, Basking Ridge Fire Company No. 1 & EMS, Somerset County Fire Coordinators, and the Bernardsville Police Department.
