Berkeley Heights, NJ - On 13 October, The Berkeley Heights Fire Department (BHFD) responded to several incidents throughout the day, beginning at 3:42 a.m. with a brush fire on Glenside Road caused by power lines knocked down by a falling tree during a storm. Later, firefighters were dispatched to Diamond Hill Road to extinguish a car fire following a motor vehicle collision. In addition to these emergencies, BHFD also addressed two fire alarm activations, both of which were determined to be false alarms.
As of 2025, the department has responded to a total of 571 fires and emergencies.
