Accident with Heavy Entrapment in West Sadsbury Township
Parkesburg, PA - On September 28th, 2025, at 8:34 a.m., the Keystone Valley Fire Department was dispatched to the 4000 block of W. Lincoln Highway in West Sadsbury Township for a reported auto accident. At 8:35 a.m., the Chester County 911 Center upgraded the call to an auto accident with entrapment, adding Medic 344 to the assignment.
Keystone Valley Fire Department units and Medic 344 responded and were advised by the 911 Center that multiple callers had reported a pickup truck wrapped around a telephone pole with the driver trapped inside.
Ambulance 8-1 arrived seven minutes after dispatch and confirmed that a single vehicle was wrapped around a telephone pole with the operator heavily entrapped. Deputy 8 (Gathercole) immediately requested a second rescue company to assist with the extrication. Ambulance 8 and Medic 344 began assessing the patient; however, it was determined that the individual had succumbed to their injuries as a result of the crash.
Rescue 8, Engine 8, and Tac 8 arrived shortly after and began stabilizing the vehicle and controlling hazards at the scene. Upon his arrival, Deputy 8 assumed command, designating the incident as “Lincoln Highway Command.” After being briefed by on-scene personnel, he requested a fire police task force to close the roadway.
Gap Fire Company’s Rescue and Engine 42 arrived but were released from the scene as their services were not required. Medic 344 was also released, and Ambulance 8 remained on scene until cleared. The Pennsylvania State Police then took control of the investigation, while Keystone Valley Fire Department units stood by to assist. Null’s Towing was contacted to provide a rotator and containment unit for the vehicle recovery.
The victim was extricated from the vehicle at 11:37 a.m., and the scene was officially turned over to the Pennsylvania State Police. Rescue 8 cleared the scene shortly thereafter, while fire police remained in place to manage road closures.
All Keystone Valley Fire Department units were cleared from the scene by 2:01 p.m., and the roadways were reopened.
The officers and members of the Keystone Valley Fire Department extend their deepest condolences to the family of the victim.
