Cologne, N.J. — October 15 — Members of the Cologne Volunteer Fire Company spent Wednesday evening conducting routine maintenance, training, and community readiness work as part of their weekly operations.
Crews completed truck and equipment checks, ran power tools, and washed apparatus before welcoming two prospective members for a station tour. Members also inspected and serviced underground fire cisterns in the Hamilton Walk community—clearing debris, checking water levels, and ensuring the systems were ready to support fire suppression efforts.
The department emphasized that weekly meetings help maintain both readiness and camaraderie among members. The Cologne Volunteer Fire Company meets every Wednesday evening and continues to welcome new volunteers interested in serving the community.
