Slippery Rock, Pa. — October 1 — During a recent training night, members of the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company focused on apartment and multi-unit building familiarization, an essential skill in a university town with numerous residential complexes.
Crews reviewed access routes, key entry points, and general unit layouts at several apartment sites across Slippery Rock to strengthen response efficiency and situational awareness.
The department emphasized that knowing a building before an emergency occurs can save critical seconds — and those seconds can save lives. Regular weekly training ensures the company remains prepared to protect the community it serves.
