Wet Roads, Heavy Traffic: Multi-Vehicle Crash Closes I-80 Lanes

On Sunday, October 11, emergency crews in Allamuchy Township, New Jersey, responded to a crash on westbound Interstate 80 near mile marker 21 involving two tractor-trailers and a passenger car. 

The Allamuchy Fire Department reported the crash was its fourth call of the day. Debris from the collision littered the highway, necessitating lane closures during cleanup and guardrail repairs. 

Fire officials advised motorists to exercise caution on wet roadways and reduce speed while traveling through the area. Crews also noted drivers using the highway shoulder to bypass traffic, creating further concerns for emergency personnel operating along the roadway.
