Cranberry Township, Pa. — October 14 — Overnight, Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company crews responded to a fully involved mobile home fire with multiple exposures. Engine 21-2, staffed with five, arrived quickly to find heavy fire and five nearby structures off-gassing and melting.

Under Captain Snedeker’s command, crews deployed a 2½-inch line for defensive operations and a 1¾-inch line to protect exposures. With no hydrants in the area, a fourth alarm was struck to establish a water shuttle. Lieutenant N. Hezlep coordinated water supply, and Chief Garing assumed command.

Two residents were treated for smoke inhalation and later released. The fire was ruled accidental, originating in the living room.
