York, Pa. — October 17 — As part of their continuing community outreach, the York City Department of Fire/Rescue Services welcomed kindergarten and first-grade students from a nearby school to their station this morning. During the visit, the young students took a tour of the fire station, got a close-up look at the fire trucks and equipment, and heard firefighters go over important safety procedures like making a 911 call, staying low when there is smoke, and making an escape plan.
