York, Pa. — September 27 — The newly restored Laurel-Rex Fire House, a fire station that dates back to 1877–1878 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was formally opened today by the York City Department of Fire/Rescue Services. The station is now open for public tours, the department announced during the ceremony, and community members are encouraged to visit or call (717) 854-3921 to arrange a group visit.
