South Park, PA - Members of the Broughton Volunteer Fire Department, Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company, and Baldwin Fire Rescue, Station 106-3, participated in a Structure Burn Class with integrated exercises at the Westmoreland Fire Academy.

During the training, crews reviewed fire dynamics, search techniques, and victim rescue operations. They then collaborated to complete several “roll-in” style scenarios that involved fire suppression, victim rescue, ventilation, and other essential firefighting tasks.

The session also provided an opportunity for firefighters from each department to build camaraderie and familiarize themselves with one another’s equipment by riding on each other’s apparatus and working in mixed crews.

A special acknowledgment goes to the instructors for organizing an outstanding and educational burn day. Gratitude is also extended to the mutual aid companies—Whitehall Fire Company and Baldwin Fire Rescue—for covering the area while the crews were engaged in training.
