October 10, 2025 - Big things are happening for Baldwin Fire Rescue as several major projects move forward. The department’s new engine is nearing completion — a milestone that has been three years in the making, from planning to development. At the end of the month, members will travel to Sutphen for the chassis and body inspection. Once that process is complete, the engine will move to FMI for customized equipment mounting.

Progress has also been made on the new living quarters at Station 1. The updated space will feature a kitchen, living room, workstations, bunkrooms, and showers, providing a comfortable, home-like environment for members on shift or spending time at the station. The department hopes this addition will pave the way for a live-in program in the near future to help enhance staffing levels.

Another project is also set to begin next week — stay tuned for more updates from Baldwin Fire Rescue, Station 106-2 and Station 106-3.
