On Tuesday, October 7th, Station 18 participated in fire prevention activities at the Lower Alloways Creek School. This year’s program focused on the dangers of lithium-ion batteries in the home, while also reinforcing essential fire safety practices such as maintaining smoke detectors, regularly changing their batteries, creating escape plans, and designating meeting places.

Students had the opportunity to explore the fire truck, examine the firefighters’ gear, and even operate a handline. The session was led by Assistant Chief Wayne Serfass and Past Chief Rob Hill. Station 18 expressed gratitude to the elementary school for hosting the event and for its continued support in helping educate young students about fire safety and prevention.
