Garbage Truck Fire Extinguished on Route 46 in Mountain Lakes; No Injuries Reported
Mountain Lakes, NJ - On October 7th at 12:20 PM, emergency crews were dispatched to a reported vehicle fire in the area of Route 46 and Crane Road (Mountain Lakes). Firefighters arrived on the scene approximately 2.5 minutes later and discovered a fire in a garbage truck.
The truck’s contents were offloaded and extinguished. Due to the nature of the materials involved and the proximity to nearby storm drains, the Morris County HazMat team was requested to assist.
No injuries were reported, and no further information will be released. Appreciation was extended to the Rainbow Lakes District 2 Fire Company, Morris County HazMat, the Mountain Lakes Police Department, and the Mountain Lakes Department of Public Works for their assistance.
