Excelsior Fire Assists with Interstate 99 Truck Fire and Later Responds to Medical Emergency
Bellwood, PA - Excelsior Fire Department was requested by Bald Eagle Deputy Chief to provide a tanker response to Interstate 99, Mile Marker 53, for a commercial vehicle fire involving a concrete pump truck.
Tanker 22 responded with a three-member crew. While en route, Deputy 36 instructed the unit to proceed to Bald Eagle Station for standby. Shortly afterward, Tanker 22 was requested to the scene as additional water was needed to complete overhaul operations.
Upon arrival, Tanker 22 supplied 1,500 gallons of water to apparatus actively extinguishing the fire. After a brief period, command released the tanker, allowing the crew to return to quarters.
At 5:06 p.m., just after refilling Tanker 22, Excelsior Fire was dispatched to assist AMED with a cardiac arrest call. Squad 22 responded with four personnel; however, before arrival, the AMED crew advised that fire services could return to service
