October 10, 2025 — Members of the Audubon Fire Department spent the day visiting Haviland Avenue School and Mansion Avenue School as part of the department’s ongoing Fire Prevention Week activities.

Firefighters met with students to discuss essential fire safety tips, including the importance of having home escape plans and practicing exit drills in case of an emergency. Students also had the opportunity to see up close the gear and tools firefighters use to battle fires and perform rescues.

The department congratulated the classes that earned pizza parties for having the highest attendance at Fire Prevention Night, as well as the poster contest winner who showcased creativity and fire safety awareness.

The Audubon Fire Department thanked the teachers and school staff for their hospitality and for allowing firefighters to engage with students — the future generation of community heroes.
