L-299 Partners with Lucid Diagnostics to Advance Esophageal Cancer Screenings for Firefighters

Altoona, PA - L-299 has partnered with EsoGuard and Lucid Diagnostics to provide esophageal pre-cancer screenings for more than 30 members and retirees. Firefighters are known to face a 9% higher risk of all cancers and an alarming 62% higher risk of developing esophageal cancer. Recognizing this growing concern, the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) and the Pennsylvania Professional Fire Fighters Association (PPFFA) continue their efforts to enhance the health, safety, and well-being of all members as cancer rates within the fire service continue to rise.
