Bethel Park Fire Department to Be Dispatched Directly by Allegheny County 911 Starting November 3
Bethel Park, PA - Effective November 3, 2025, at 6:00 AM, the Bethel Park Volunteer Fire Company (BPVFC) will transition to being directly dispatched by Allegheny County 911 for all emergency fire calls. From that date forward, all emergency calls will be handled and dispatched directly by the county’s 911 center.
As part of the change, the BPVFC will also operate on a shared communication channel with neighboring mutual aid services, improving coordination and response efforts among local emergency agencies.
The Bethel Park Dispatch Center will continue its role as a ring-up center, handling police dispatching and serving as a local point of contact for residents at the municipal building.
Residents and businesses with fire alarm systems currently monitored by the Bethel Park Dispatch Center have the option to update their monitoring setup. Those wishing to connect their alarm systems directly to the Allegheny County 911 Center should contact their alarm company and have the dispatch number changed to 412-473-3370. This adjustment allows alarm companies to contact the fire department more directly.
However, this update is not mandatory. Residents may continue using the existing dispatch number, 412-833-2000, if they prefer. In such cases, the Bethel Park Dispatcher will continue to receive alarm calls and forward them to the county for dispatch.
Aside from dialing 9-1-1 for fire-related emergencies, residents are not expected to experience any noticeable changes in service. The transition is designed to be seamless and is anticipated to enhance overall fire department operations and emergency response efficiency.
