This article is a direct street report from our correspondent and has not been edited by the 1st Responder newsroom.

On October 13, the Gloucester Fire Department responded to a reported working fire located on Washington Street near Gee Avenue in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Engine 3 from the Rockport Fire Department was sent to Headquarters to offer mutual-aid assistance during the incident.

Gloucester firefighters managed the initial response, and Rockport Engine 3 contributed extra resources via the regional mutual-aid system. Dispatching a nearby engine to assist or cover for an incident helps local departments handle staffing and equipment demands during active fireground operations.
