BROOKHAVEN, NY - On October 12th, the Brookhaven Fire Department was activated for a reported automatic fire alarm; 5-3-30 got on the road and firecom notified him that they were getting reports for a basement fire at the same location. 5-3-30 got on scene, had smoke showing and reactivated the working fire. Mastic Engine 1 was first due, stretched a line and extinguished all fire. More crews responded in and started doing overhaul. The scene was placed under control within two-and-a-half hours.
