Two-Car Crash with Serious Injuries in Palm Harbor

Palm Harbor, FL - At approximately 11:16 in the morning on October 1, 2021 Palm Harbor Fire Rescue responded to a head-on vehicle collision at Belcher Road and Nebraska Avenue in Palm Harbor Florida. Upon arrival Palm Harbor Fire Rescue found two vehicles with heavy damage with occupants still on the vehicle. The scene was upgraded to a hazmat emergency due to a large quantities of chlorine, Acid, tile cleaner, and tablet chlorine spilled in the roadway. One patient was declared a trauma alert and transported for his injuries after being deconned due to being covered in liquid chlorine during the incident. The roadway was shut down for several hours so they Pinellas County Hazardous Materials Team could mitigate the situation. The Pinellas County Hazardous Materials team is comprised of several fire departments within the county. These departments are Palm Harbor, Seminole, Largo, Pinellas Park, and Saint Petersburg.
