Quick Response Prevents Spread from Downed Power Lines

October 11 — Roseland, N.J. — On Saturday morning , the Roseland Volunteer Fire Department responded to the rear of 300 Eagle Rock Avenue for a report of wires down with active fire.
Engine 661 and Command 660 arrived to find power lines on the ground with visible fire activity. Firefighters secured the area and stood by until utility crews arrived to isolate power and make repairs.
The quick response helped ensure public safety while preventing the fire from spreading to nearby property. The incident was later turned over to the utility company for further handling.
