October 4—Saxton, P.A.: Saxton Volunteer Fire Company members visited nearby pre-K classrooms to teach eager young students about fire safety. Children learned crucial safety procedures and habits during a morning session, which will help them and their families stay safe. Another group of pre-K students joined the training in the afternoon and engaged in comparable exercises. The fire prevention team explained topics like identifying hazards, what to do when a smoke alarm goes off, and how to move safely in an emergency using age-appropriate techniques—simple language, examples, and demonstrations—in both sessions.
