Pomfret, Vt. — October 7, 2026 — Pomfret-Teago Volunteer Fire Department members participated in their regular Tuesday training, answered a fire alarm with support from Woodstock Fire/EMS, and performed equipment maintenance during a hectic evening.
The evening started with pump training on Engine 2. As members carried out the exercise, the department was alerted to a fire alarm.
Engine 1 and Engine 3 responded in conjunction with Woodstock Fire/EMS. When they arrived, the crews discovered that the caretaker had turned off
