Ridgefield, NJ - This week, the Ridgefield Park Fire Department visited local elementary schools to teach students about fire safety, with a special focus on the dangers and proper handling of lithium-ion batteries. Firefighters also emphasized the importance of calling 9-1-1 in emergencies, keeping bedroom doors closed to slow the spread of fire, and practicing safety in the kitchen.

The department expressed its gratitude to the administrators and teachers of all local schools for their cooperation and support, and thanked the students for their enthusiasm and commitment to practicing fire safety.
