Firefighter injured,dog rescued in Richmond two alarmer

RICHMOND,VA-Tones sounded on Oct. 2, at 3:36 am, dispatching Richmond crews to 655 Westover Hills Boulevard- the Ashton Square Apartments for a structure fire.
Officials said, scene upon arrival was heavy fire coming from second floor of the building to the roofline.
A working incident was declared.
At 3:40 am, a second alarm was declared.
Officials said A search was initiated and a dog in a crate was rescued by firefighters.The dog survived.
Occupants all evacuated safely.
At 4:47 am the fire was marked under control.
Officials said one firefighter had a non-life threatening hand injury.
The fire is under investigation.
