Dobbs Ferry, NY - Volunteer firefighters from several Rivertowns departments battled an intense, early-morning structure fire along Mountain Road, committing personnel and apparatus for nearly five hours to bring the blaze under control.
At approximately 5:00 a.m., the Irvington Fire Department was dispatched to reports of an active structure fire on Mountain Road, with mutual aid requested for Dobbs Ferry Tower Ladder 23 and Tarrytown Fire Department Engine 80.
Upon arrival, Irvington Command encountered significant fire conditions and transmitted a 10-75 (Working Fire), rapidly escalating the dispatch to draw in additional regional units.
Crews initiated coordinated interior attack and exposure-protection operations, utilizing Tower Ladder 23's elevated vantage point and master-stream capabilities alongside ground hose teams.
Responders operated in punishing conditions for approximately five hours, conducting deep overhaul and checking for structural extension before the scene was declared under control and mutual aid units were released.
