The Highland Lakes Volunteer Fire Department spent the day at Lounsberry Hollow School, engaging students in Fire Prevention Week activities. Firefighters discussed important safety topics, demonstrated equipment, and encouraged students to take what they learned home to share with their families.

The department reminded parents and guardians to talk with their children about fire safety, reinforcing lessons learned during the visit — including how to create an escape plan, recognize fire hazards, and safely call for help in an emergency.

Community outreach events like this are a cornerstone of the department’s mission to educate and protect residents of all ages.
