Watertown, NY - Firefighters from the Northpole Fire Company committed apparatus and personnel for nearly five hours Tuesday afternoon to provide extensive mutual aid support at a working structure fire in the Village of Antwerp, Jefferson County.

At approximately 12:20 p.m. on September 29, 2026, Northpole was dispatched to assist the Antwerp Fire Department as heavy flames prompted a multi-agency response across the county. The department responded with Chief 1 and Engine 2.

Upon arriving on scene, the crew of Engine 2 integrated directly into coordinated fireground activities, supporting interior and exterior suppression lines, water supply management, and extended overhaul tasks alongside neighboring departments.

Northpole personnel operated continuously for nearly five hours to assist in mitigating hazards and extinguishing hidden hot spots before being officially released by incident command to return to service.
