Danbury Student Rides to School on Fire Engine After Reading Contest Win

Danbury, Connecticut — September 30 — When a Danbury student rode a fire engine to Hayestown School, the Danbury Fire Department gave him a memorable start to the school day. After winning the Danbury Library's Summer Book Reading Contest, Jacob, a student from Hayestown, was granted the ride. When Engine 23 arrived at his house on Tuesday morning to transport him to school, classmates, instructors, and relatives gathered outside to welcome him.
